The objectives of the IGU include :

  • Uniting geophysicists across various disciplines to discuss current geophysical problems related to the solid earth and oceans.

  • Encouraging the study and research of geophysical issues and providing platforms for publishing results.

  • Organizing meetings, conferences, and the dissemination of geophysical.

  • Collaborating with similar societies for organizing and participating in symposia, and research projects, and representing geophysics nationally and internationally.

  • Securing and managing funds, grants, and endowments to support geophysical.

  • Undertaking actions that promote the utility, aims, and purposes of the

The WIHG student chapter plans to organize a series of educational activities, including workshops, seminars, and field trips, to provide hands-on experience and deep insights into geophysical research. These activities aim to give students and researchers practical exposure to various geophysical phenomena and environmental issues. Additionally, through outreach programs, the WIHG student chapter is committed to enhancing public awareness and contributing significantly to society’s overall well-being.
